🌍 Why I Chose to Leave the U.S.: Listening to My Soul, Not Just the System

When people ask me why I left the United States, I sometimes hesitate. Not because I don’t have answers—but because I have so many, and most of them are complicated.

But let’s start with the simple ones.

1. The political climate made it impossible to stay.

I’ve always been someone who pays attention—to people, to policies, to the pulse of a place. And what I saw in the U.S. over the last several years? A growing disregard for human compassion, equity, intelligence, and collective well-being. The political climate isn’t just disappointing—it’s devastating.

As a woman, a Latina, a coach, and a global citizen, I couldn’t continue to center my life in a country that consistently devalues the very things I stand for.

2. I’ve never felt truly “at home” in the U.S.

I’ve lived in some of the country’s most vibrant cities—Los Angeles, New York, Dallas, Salt Lake City, DC, Tulsa. I’ve traveled extensively, coast to coast. And while each place offered me growth and meaning, none of them felt like my forever.

Brooklyn came close. It matched my rhythm in many ways—creative, diverse, raw, and beautiful. But even that beloved borough runs at a pace that eventually burns you out. I wanted a softer, more sustainable way to live and create.

3. Life abroad offers more—without demanding so much.

Let’s be real: the cost of living in the U.S. has become absurd, especially in cities where culture, creativity, and community thrive. Abroad, I’ve found that you can access an elevated quality of life without sacrificing your soul (or your savings account).

In many global cities, it’s possible to live well—eat well, rest well, connect deeply—without the constant grind that seems baked into American culture.

4. The Universe had other plans.

Ultimately, this wasn’t just a logistical move. It was a spiritual one. I knew there was another continent to explore—not just physically, but energetically. I was ready for a new chapter, one shaped by curiosity, expansion, and alignment.

So I listened. I trusted. And I followed the magic. ✨✨

**Leaving the U.S. wasn’t an escape—it was a return. To myself. To possibility. To the kind of life I always imagined was possible, but had to leave "home" to create.
